The site was launched by two ex-shoe buyers Nigel Carr and Jackie Hodge after they saw a gap in the market for a multi brand online shoe shop after Nigel had acquired the unique domain name back in the late 1990's. Nigel was a shoe buyer with footwear chain Barratts shoes for mealy nine years becoming Buying Controller in 1995, after that he ran a successful import business supplying the likes of Ben Sherman shoes and Principles before forming a company called TMC which developed shoes for Tesco and Next amongst other.

Shoes.co.uk was launched in the summer of 2006 as a destination store for the discerning online shoe buyer with the aim of emulating the success of Zappos in the US. The company now sells around rightly brands of shoes for men, Women and Children.

Other children brands include Kickers, Snowjoggers and Gumbies with Geox being added in the Autumn. The company is a major retailer of the brands Fly London, Iron Fist, Hush Puppies Scholl, Timberland and Rockport and Havaianas amongst many other brands.

The company has its head office in Altrincham in Cheshire - (check out the contact page for more details) and has its head office in Leigh in Lancashire where all of the Lelli Kelly Shoes are despatched from. The company can send shoes out with 24 hours postage if orders are received by 2pm on the day of purchase and all Lelli Kelly Shoes, Boots and Sandals come with a small gift which is usually packaged in the box.

If you need to send your shoe back for any reason them please do make sure that the free gift is also enclosed and that the shoes are sent back in the original branded box.
